Pork night at Mozza

Last Saturday, I went to Mangiare In Famiglia dinner at Mozza2Go's dining room. It's one of their very popular events and seats are limited to only 14-15 lucky people/ night. I called 1 months in advance, and luckily I could reserve 4 seats.

It turned out to be one of the BEST dinners I had this year. The theme was PIG, featuring Heritage USA Berkshire pigs. The entire evening was pig, pig, and pig after pig! It felt like I've never eaten this much meat in one meal ever before.

3 different kinds of focaccia, and sooo many kinds of salumi and pate. Coppa, mortadella, prosciutto cotto, Genovese cott, ciccioli, pate di fegato, terrina di testa, mixed pickles, spicy mustard. They were so good that I even had a second serving...that was a mistake, because I was already starting to feel full with this amazing first course. lol.

Salsiccia fresca with broccolini alla griglia. It was followed by, Soffiata di Parmigiano-Reggiano, ragu di maiale. Souffle over pork ragu. It was my favorite dish of the night!

Arrostito spalla di maiale, cicoria e salsa verde. Costelleto di Maile, cippolini al forno. Roasted pork, and shredded pork. Pig heaven.

Gelati e sorbetti...banana, vanilla, e caramel. Coconut almondo biscotti in pig shape!

Hands-down unbelievable dinner. It was as if we were invited to a private dinner at chef's house. I ate way, way beyond my capacity, because I just couldn't stop eating. The next day, I was still full all day.
