Donabe smoked seafood...with hickory wood chips

I tried smoking some ingredients with hickory smoke chips in my donabe smoker, "Ibushi Gin", this time.

These are jumbo shrimp and jumbo scallops. They were smoked really nicely in the donabe! The aroma had the slight sweetness. I marinated them in the olive oil (with some dry red chili slices) overnight and served them as an appetizer.

The dish was so nice that I even drank up the oil...because the oil got flavored with the nice smokiness overnight.
