Dining in NYC...Colicchio and Sons

Yo yo...donabe mama is here. We had a wonderful "donabe" week at a trade show (NYIGF) in New York last week. Luckily, we could get a last minute reservation at this highly popular Colicchio and Sons for 7 people one evening.

We had a wonderful dinner at their main dining room. Here are the pictures of some of the dishes!

Grilled Octopus (super tender), and Stripe Bass Cheek with Pork Belly.

Roasted Hudson Valley Rabbit with Stinging Nettles, Hon Shimeji, etc. , I also tasted Duck Roast and Swardfish, which were ordered by other guests and they were both so nice, too.

Dessert...Browned Butter Pound Cake was quite huge and very lovely.

We also enjoyed both beer (they have a very nice tap beer list) and wine. I was particularly excited by 2009 Gothic Wine, Hyland Vineyard, Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley, OR). It had the very nice earthiness with authentic elegance of Pinot.

By the way, at the end of the dinner, they gave each one of us a homemade muffin to take home. It was, I think, zucchini and spices kind. I had it in the next morning and it was really nice, too!
