Donabe and Japanese Cooking Class Starts This Month!

Hello Everyone,

I am very excited to announce that our Donabe and Japanese cooking classes will start this month. The class location is in Los Angeles (near Downtown), so I am sorry if you are interested but we are too far.

This month, we are scheduled to do two themes (total 4 sessions), which are...

Donabe Steaming Class
We will use our donabe steamer, "Mushi Nabe", to cook multi-course meal. We will eat as we cook each dish at the table. It'll also be a wonderful way to learn how you can entertain your dinner guests without disappearing into the kitchen before every course to prepare!

Miso Making Workshop
This will be our "hard-core" event. We will show you step-by-step making of traditional Japanese miso from scratch. We will use the premium ingredients brought from Japan, such as "Toyomasari" soy beans from Hokkaido, Rice Koji (rice, which was sprouted with koji mold) from Fukui and Japanese sun-dried sea salt. At the end of the class, we will taste some miso-themed dishes including salmon miso hot pot (cooked with our classic-style donabe). You can also take the freshly made miso home as a gift, so you can age it at home.

Please check out more details about our cooking classes on toiro's website.

Our February schedule will be announced very soon (and we might also announce an additional class for January), so please check back our website frequently.

Thank you, and Happy Donabe Life!
