Pot-luck dinner...Unagi Chirashi Sushi (BBQ eel scattered sushi)

I got together with friends for the premier viewing of a new show, "Rubicon", the other night. It's a very exciting show!

We all brought food and wine to enjoy before the viewing. I made Unagi Chirashi Sushi (BBQ eel over sushi rice) with the donabe rice cooker, "Kamado-san". Here's the recipe for my Unagi Chirashi Sushi. To serve with the dish, I also made Gari shoga (pickled ginger) with the baby ginger.

I also made Tofu "Shira-ae", which is a traditional Japanese Buddhist-style vegan dish and is also a very popular home-style dish. This is one of many regular tofu dishes I make at home. Firm tofu was mashed into paste and mixed with white soy sauce, sesame paste, sesame seeds, agave nectar, and a little amount of salt. Then, it was mixed again with vegetables and seaweed. I will try to write the recipe next time. (I had a very busy day and am tired now.)
